Finders Keepers and kite festivals in Lincoln City

Two things draw visitors to Lincoln City for reasons beyond the sand: glass floats and kites. Dates and details change, so this page says what the sources describe and points to the places that keep the schedule.

Finders Keepers glass floats

Finders Keepers is a program that hides hand-made glass floats on the city's beaches for visitors to find and keep. The City of Lincoln City's frequently-asked-questions page describes floats placed along its seven miles of shoreline, above the high-tide line and during daylight hours. The program is run through the city's visitor program, Explore Lincoln City. Counts, season dates and registration rules have changed over the years, so read the current rules from the program itself before you go. Its website had an expired security certificate when we checked, so we do not link to it here. The city's frequently asked questions is the official page we confirmed.

Kite festivals

Wikipedia says two kite festivals are held each year in Lincoln City, a Summer Kite Festival in June and a Fall Kite Festival in October, both at D River Wayside. The City of Lincoln City's D River page also says the site hosts a pair of kite festivals each June and October. Exact dates change from year to year, so check the city calendar and the D River page before you plan.
